What is Skillset Academi+?
- Skillset Academi+ provides high quality, flexible training for those working in the creative media industry in Wales.
- The courses are designed to meet real industry needs, with content that has been shaped by feedback from industry practitioners on priority skills gaps.
- Skillset Academi+ courses are credit bearing. They are run by university tutors and industry experts and give you the option to gain credits towards a masters degree.

Skillset Academi+ works in partnership with the University of Wales, Newport, Swansea Metropolitan University, Cardiff Metropolitan University, and Aberystwyth University.
The Skillset Academi+ scheme is part of the Work Based Learning Programme, funded by the EU’s Convergence European Social Fund (ESF) through the Welsh Government. If you are in private sector employment and live and/or work in West Wales, North West Wales and the Valleys, you may be entitled to a fully or part-funded place on the range of courses offered by Skillset Academi+.

Eligibility Criteria for Skillset Academi + courses
You can apply for a place if:
- You live AND/OR work in one of the convergence areas of Wales
- Your employment status is employed (full or part time) or self-employed
- Your employer is not in the public sector
Not eligible? What next?
If you are not currently eligible to undertake our courses, don’t worry. In the next phase of our project we intend to make these courses commercially available to those who are not eligible under the ESF guidelines. Please contact us for further details.
